A long long time ago, I went to St. Mary's Church in Gdansk. I was not en femme, but in short pants. At the entrance sat ladies that for girls in mini have longer, flowery skirts. They looked at my shorts and recognize that they are too short. They handed out my skirts, which went two hours walk aroun church. No one was shocked.
I'd adore attending my church in a pretty dress - don't know how it would go over, however.
