Overdressed

I have never underdressed (see Saturday’s post), but I have overdressed on occasion. And on one occasion, I was way overdressed (above). The occasion was the first Avon representative Christmas party I ever attended.

Most Christmas parties I attended in the past were dressy affairs, so I assumed that the Avon Christmas party would also be a dressy affair. It was not and you can read about my uncomfortable December 2006 evening here.

  1. One of things I miss, the attitude in society that a celebration, should be an overdressed occasion. Growing up one would never think to underdress and attend a Christmas party or some other social occassion where there was going to be people to meet. At minimum today that invitation should include, formal, semi, casual, or beach!

    1. I was very surprised. Most of the attendees were dressed office casual style, but a few took that down a few notches!

  3. Your female self have grown so much over the years. After reading your Avon Christmas party post. I went back to your 2007 posts. WOW. Not just the pictures (fewer pictures of you) but how you viewed yourself. This blog proves that it is more in the mind.

  4. Hi Stana!
Eight years on, you look just the same as in the picture - absolutely gorgeous! That's quite an outfit. Not chickening out after realising you could be the centre of attention, shows then, as now, how much you accept yourself as the woman you undoubtedly are. Of course you were getting looks, they were not trying to read you; they were biting themselves for not taking the opportunity to get dolled up as well!
I was wondering, as you are showing us your lovely legs lately (envy, envy), have you contemplated showing them off on the catwalk? Haute couture is always looking for legs like yours... :-)

    1. Hi Abigale,

Thank you for the nice comments! Actually, I have done the catwalk on three occasions - twice at benefits for a local LGBT group and once at Fantasia Fair. I may do it at Fantasia Fair again this year.

    2. I didn’t know you were a professional! Should have guessed.
If you do walk at Fantasia Fair, then get someone to take a video. There is not enough of you on film girl - that I know of that is!. The ham radio event doesn’t count, you were not prepared. We want to see a long sequence of Stana in motion ;-)
