What’s Next?

I watch television, but when a commercial comes on, I tune out.

Now that the holiday season is upon us, there is a commercial using a new version of the Darlene Love tune It’s A Marshmallow World that I enjoyed hearing.

After hearing the commercial a dozen times more or less, I decided to actually watch the commercial to see what they were advertising. Turned out it was a Sephora commercial, in which various people gift a Sephora bag containing Sephora products.

When a young woman gifts a young man, I had to rewind the commercial because I wasn’t sure what I was seeing. She gave him lipstick! And after withdrawing the lipstick from the bag, he applies it to his lips! I could not help noticing that the young man was wearing silvery eyeshadow, mascara and blush.

Click here to see the commercial on YouTube.

Wow! What’s next?

  1. Before the "Plain and Ugly" took over with.men's fashions, men used to wear makeup. So this commercial harkens back to the.time men wore makeup.
If anybody has read my previous comments (s)he can see that I'm a rebel against the "Plain and Ugly" rut men have dug themselves into.

  2. It’s interesting to note that almost all the girls are wearing low heeled Mary Janes that look extremely comfortable. Such a pity that these are not readily available these days.

  3. The Sephora commercial beautifully highlights the remarkable journey of progress that transgender individuals have undertaken. It serves as a beacon of hope in our evolving society. In stark contrast, conservative politicians endeavor to undermine and criminalize the existence of transgender individuals. Your inquiry, "What comes next?" is a thought-provoking and anticipative question. Here's to hoping that the future holds positive prospects for all.

    1. The conservative campaign, political and religious, against the LGBTQ+ community is a tactic to divert attention away from the real bread and butter issues facing society. If one is looking to protect children against predators then start looking at the clergy, scout leader, athletic coaches, male family members, et al. Who assault women in this society? It's not trans youth.

    2. You are correct transgender persons are not a problem or an issue they were made to be one, so persons will vote for a party that cuts taxes on the rich and doesn't support the working person. Paula G

    3. No , ! Conservative politicians are NOT  trying undermine and criminalize the existence of transgender individuals , they could care less about their lifestyle . They are criminalizing how the Woke Community is brainwashing kids into transgenderism, a new false religion . Any femulator who goes out in public should make sure they Pass like Stana does .

  4. I just rechecked my MAC at Ulta list of services and, yes, the Drag/TS/CD person is still there! But having Sephora use someone in our community for a TV ad -- "Wow"! I'm with you there, Stana. C'mon MAC, keep up with the competition!

  5. Much as I like "The Senoritas", let's get up to date with the greatest male ballet troupe, The Trocaderos https://trockadero.org/ The Trocs are both great ballerinas and great comedians. They skewer classic ballets with satire, sometimes overtly and other times subtly. They do this always showing us they are very fine dancers. Check out their homepage and check their schedule. I'm really lucky they're going to be in DC at The Kennedy Center for three nights! With COVID being less of a problem, they have quite a large number of performances across the USA in 2024. Do yourselves a big favor and check them out. You don't have to know anything about ballet to have a great time. One time I went with someone who is a ballet aficionado who helped me spot the subtle comic details, but I'd already laughed my butt off at previous shows. That just made it even more fun.

  8. Let me just say, it’s not normal to see a man with a mustache wearing makeup. Like you I don’t watch the commercials either and like you I finally watched it and when I seen this guy. I was “what the hell was that!” My husband says he want makeup from Sophora πŸ˜‚ he says he want the sparkle eye shadow πŸ˜‚ my reply to him was “ Hell I can’t afford myself makeup from Sophora so he won’t be getting anything from there either “ πŸ˜‚ . Yeah that’s a kind of in your face and down your throat jester, don’t you think? Maybe if the change that one guy it wouldn’t be so comical 🀷🏻‍♀️ Sorry if I just pissed in someone’s corn flakes but suck it up buttercup, there’s always gonna be someone that doesn’t agree with you!
