Making Scents

Does your femulation include smelling like a lady? It should.

For starters, I apply a lady’s deodorant to my shaved underarms. (Maybe I should ask, “Do you shave your underarms?”) Anyway, I use a feminine scent (Lady Speed Stick’s “Powder Fresh”) under my arms.

After I am fully dressed, made up and coiffed, I apply perfume (Chanel No. 22) to my inner wrists, the base of my throat, behind my ear lobes, in my cleavage, behind my knees  and my inner elbows.

After all that, I assume I will smell lovely (and femininely) to all bystanders. Funny thing is that I have almost no sense of smell, so I cannot appreciate the scents I am wearing. And I have to be careful not to apply too much perfume and overwhelm the onlookers!

Delayed Comments Dept.

A reader e-mailed me, “I could not see my comment last night, but now I can see it!”

I responded, “After a comment is submitted, I have to approve it before it appears on the blog and sometimes there is a delay until I get online to approve it.”

Hitting It Out of the Park Dept.

Tuesday’s blog post garnered 9,187 hits! That is an all-time high as best as I can recall. Typically, Femulate pulls in 6,000 to 6,5000 hits per day, so that 9,187 represents approximately a 33% increase. I wonder if the topic (will men over 50 soon be wearing bras?) had anything to do with the increase.

Success Breeds Success Dept.

Those 9,187 hits has a ripple effect: an increase in the number of e-mails I receive, so if you e-mailed me recently, please be patient – I have a long queue to reply to.

  1. I use a strong smelling female deodorant when dressed even though I cannot smell it at the time
The biggest problem is getting rid of the smell when going back to male mode

  3. Dear Stana
First let me thank you for the great daily trog (trans blog ) . It's the first thing I read every morning .
Secondly , you have mentioned that you are an Avon lady . Would it be possible for you to send me a cosmetic kit that would help be as pretty as you. I recently had to discard my whole female wardrobe and make up . It would be wonderful to get everything a girl needs from foundations to lip gloss . Thanks again for all you do for our community.
    Sincerely Stephaniesometimes

    1. Hi Stephanie!

Not knowing your colors and preferences, it would be difficult for me to put together a package that would be suitable for you. Instead, I invite you to visit my online Avon store (https://www.avon.com/myavon/stanzepa?rep=stanzepa) and you can pick out exactly what you need and have it shipped to your home.

  5. I actually thought about this subject this morning as I put on my unscented deodorant! Slipping out of a dress and heels is a much easier way to conceal my femme side than washing away the lingering scent of perfume...although there are many days I still want a light spritz of something floral:)

  6. I wonder how often lack of sensitivity (i.e. you can't smell yourself) contributes to problems for others? I know a number of people who are environmentally sensitive. Having someone overly scented walk into the room requires immediate exit. We've had to turn people at the door away as we could smell them coming up the walk...

  7. I also use the Lady Speed Stick "Powder Fresh" on a regular basis but tend to be pretty skimpy with the my Estee Lauder!

  9. i have used "dove" original spray with the blue top (which is supposedly a ladies' deodorant) for at least 20 years now on a day-to-day basis dressed as a man. it has has a nice scent which the traditional male ones don't, but is not so strong that it blows people's socks off. i also wear it as an "up yours" to the arbeiters of genderism! the only person who ever queried my choice of scent was my nan, and that was only because she saw the actual spray can amongst my things when i visited her - not because she noticed the smell. ps - when i am en femme i like to wear something a bit more pungent, as in my book smelling like a women is as essential as looking and acting like one!

  10. I have shaved my underarms for decades and is just what I do. My lady friends do like it. I only use lady’s deodorant- Dove invisible. I only use scent when out in girl mode - 2-3x a year.

I wear Zents as a fragrance as Rachel and when in boy-mode. It's pleasant without being overly floral, so it works for both sides of me. More importantly, I don't sneeze when I wear it. I prefer the Mandarin (orange) and Sun (vanilla & sandalwood) NFI in the company.
