Technical Difficulties

On Thursday, IT changed my computer operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7. During the process, I lost all unanswered e-mails sent to me between Wednesday evening and Thursday evening (US Eastern Daylight Saving Time).

If you e-mailed me during that time and have not received a response by now, your e-mail was probably one that was lost, so please resend your e-mail. Thank-you!

  4. IMO, Windows XP is way superior to W7. Why anyone would volunteer to change from W-XP to W-7 is beyond me. Bill Gates got my money but only once! Good luck with the "new" OS.

    1. I did not volunteer for the change. The new versions of Adobe Framemaker and Acrobat Pro that I use on a daily basis at work did not play nicely with XP, so the switch to 7 was necessary. If I had to volunteer anything, I would dump Windows all together and switch to the Mac OS (which is the OS I have been using on my home computers since 1986).

  5. I meant no disparagement of you personally, Stana, for changing IOs, please do not be offended. My reply was merely a personal statement intended for the business world. I guess it came out wrong.

Personally, I'm a fan of the LINUX system which I use on my home pc. I love the customer service given to me by those employed at Red Hat and I absolutely love their mascot, Tux, he's cute!

Your IT folks only did what they were allowed, I understand.

    1. No offense taken, Billie. I use Linux at work on some of projects, but day-to-day, it's Windows. I have to say, today's Windows is a lot more stable than in the past. But I still prefer the Mac OS. And no matter which OS I use, I prefer using it while wearing a dress and heels!
