That Moment

I have been femulating for most of my life. As a result, I know how to look and act like a woman. Practice makes perfect.

I assume that sometimes I pass and sometimes I don’t. Unless someone tells me that I pass—which has happened occasionally—how can I know what others think of my presentation? I can’t, so I simply do my best and hope for the best.

Regardless of how others see me, I am satisfied with how I see myself. I have shed my masculinity and embraced my femininity. That isn’t too difficult, since most people see me as a feminine guy, which gives me a head start.

Despite my ability to femulate, I sometimes wonder, “Who am I kidding? I’m not a woman. I’m just another guy who likes to crossdress.”

Then something happens that makes me feel I am not femulating at all. At that moment, I feel that I really am a woman.

I experienced such a moment years ago while attending an IFGE convention in Philadelphia.

At the convention, I attended a presentation by the mother of a young trans girl. Her daughter was very young—still in the single digits.

I have no idea why I chose that presentation. I was not the parent of a trans child. My guess is that none of the other presentations in that time slot interested me, so what the heck?

The mother entered the room with her daughter in tow, walked to the dais and prepared to begin her talk. Meanwhile, she directed her daughter to find a seat in the audience.

The room was nearly full, with more than 100 people in attendance. The girl looked a little lost as she walked up the aisle searching for a seat.

I had an aisle seat. When she reached me, she gave me a big smile and asked me to pick her up so she could sit on my lap!

I was speechless.

She sat on my lap for the entire 45-minute presentation. She was perfectly behaved—a real little lady—and afterward, her mother thanked me for “babysitting.”

I don’t know why her daughter chose me over everyone else in that room, which included cisgender women as well as the male-to-female majority.

Whatever the reason, I passed with motherly colors!

Outfoxing Fox

Friday, I wrote about the problem accessing this blog using Firefox. The fix is on my to-do list. Meanwhile, an anonymous reader described a workaround. It worked for anonymous and should work for other Firefox users. It requires modifying a Firefox setting, as follows: Firefox Settings > Privacy and Security > DNS over HTTPS - advanced settings > Manage exceptions > add: femulate.org. Then quit Firefox and restart it for the change to take effect.

  3. Hi Stana,
First the work around is functional - otherwise you would have heard from me! :)
WRT today's commentary, I feel it also. Recently I have had several opportunities to experience significant femme time. I recently traveled to Arizona by plane. No one batted an eye including TSA and all treated me as a lady. More recently, I was inspired by an outfit presented by Rhonda (https://www.rhondasescape.com/2026/08/feminine-image-9.html) and did my best to reproduce it. The day I went out on the town with it, I had two quick interactions. First, I went to Home Depot (yes, I did!) and an older man, a customer, commented on how nice my outfit was. I don't believe he read me at all. Shortly thereafter on entering Walmart, a woman again complimented me on the skirt. I felt very feminine in those moments. I am not into men but to have that gentleman notice me that way was empowering and to so quickly have a woman compliment me was reinforcing. My next jaunt in that outfit will be to pick up some passengers at the Hartford train station. We will see how that goes!

    1. Reminds me of the time I visited a Lowe’s home improvement store in girl mode to get a replacement part for a piece of plumbing that failed. I had no trepidation about going to Lowe’s and I found my trip very revealing.

Whenever I go to Lowe’s or Home Depot in boy mode, I have to find and ask a store employee when I need help. In girl mode, I had a male Lowe’s employee practically at my beck and call without asking.

When he saw me looking lost in the plumbing department, he asked what I needed and directed me to the exact location where the part was displayed. After I found what I needed, he came over and compared it to the old part I had brought along to make sure I got the right part.

That's the power of a short skirt and high heels!
