High heels change everything.
Heels transform your stance, gait, leg appearance, and most importantly, your sense of self. Slip into a pair, and ordinary movement becomes deliberate, graceful, and feminine.
For many, heels were the first unmistakable sign of femininity. A borrowed dress, a secret lipstick trial, but heels made the transformation tangible. The sound alone, that confident click on a hard floor, could be exhilarating.
Heels elongate legs, improve posture, and add elegance to even the simplest outfit. However, their allure extends beyond appearance. They demand poise, slow you down, and make you acutely aware of each step. In this way, they don’t just complete an outfit, they complete a presentation.
Yes, heels can be uncomfortable, require practice, and sensible shoes are easier. But sensible shoes rarely ignite the heart.
For the dedicated femulator, high heels are not just footwear; they are a declaration.

Are high heels the reason we dress up?
ReplyDeleteAmen, Sister. However, they DO require regular usage.
ReplyDeleteFor the past month-ish, I hadn't been in heels for more than an hour or so. When I went out last Sunday, dressed in my Sunday Best (ie: most comfy pumps) I ended up walking around downtown for about an hour and a half. I spent the rest of the day combating leg cramps.
Some say I should forgo the high heels. Others say I need to spend more time in them. I know which solution gets MY vote. (giggle)
As a consistent high heel wearer I must discuss the statement "Yes, heels can be uncomfortable". There is no reason heels need to be uncomfortable. Over a decade ago while trying on high heels in the clearance rack at a DSW I was told "Life is too short for shoes that hurt", that is, fit first, looks second. I spend many 18 hour days in 4" heels, I couldn't do it if my feet hurt. I must admit I too have a few short time heels, but they are super cute and purchased before I became a full time heel wearer.
ReplyDeleteYes "heels transform your stance, gait, leg appearance..." BUT high heels also empower you and give you additional confidence (i.e. super powers - lol).
Finally, Ms. Shaw try magnesium supplements for you cramps.

Heels are a Declaration. Perfect. Heels indeed make a statement and commands attention.
ReplyDeletecouldnt agree more about heels being a Declaration & commanding attention. just walk down a shopping aisle when its not overly busy & that sound of heel on floor turns heads believe me….there have been several where i have recieved comments from both men & women after they turned to that distinctive sound……& on occasions it has lead to much more 😉. To me there is no choice but wearing heels 😊❤️❤️
DeleteI, as a 74 year old man, take pride in wearing 75 mm (3 inch) heels. I attended a funeral wearing a black dress and heels of that height. Some woman, half my age, wondered how I could wear something that high.
ReplyDeleteOne thing about heels - you don't slouch. I see people my age and older slouching. One thing that makes it easy to wear heels is I tend to tippy-toe. I had to make an effort to have my heel strike the ground when I walked.
Heels enhance the feeling of dressing up "en femme". Aside from the heels, I have blond hair well past my shoulders and a bust. I also wear nail polish, earrings, and makeup to complete the look. As an aside, I don't attempt to sound like a woman as it's a lost cause as I sing second bass in my church choir.
Very few people wear high heels anymore. There is only one other person in my church who consistently wears heels.

By the time I started borrowing my mother’s and sister’s clothes around age 12, my feet were already bigger than theirs, so I couldn’t wear their high heels. It wasnt until my mid 20’s when I came out to a gay neighbor who occasionally dabbled in crossdressing that I got to try his size 11 heels. He and his partner went on vacation and he asked me to go into his apartment to feed the cats. I lingered for a while every day, trying on those black stilettos. I finally got the nerve to buy a $30 pair at Payless, but it took me nearly a half hour to drum up the courage to approach the checkout. Thirty years later, I love going to Nordstrom rack and trying on some size 12s
ReplyDeleteBTW the photo of Stanley in the street dressed like that with those heels & that guy queuing looking at her tells the whole story. dress that way with high heels & you will command attention..it is a power thing & a turn on for others while making you feel great (& sexy !) 💋💋💋💋
