I’ll never forget the first time I told the clerk I wasn’t shopping for “her” I was shopping for me. Or the first time I was offered a dressing room without asking. It felt so wonderful! Angie
Once, when I said I was picking up something for my wife (Vanity Fair foundation garment) the older salewoman said, "Yeah, right!" That ruse works better around Christmas or Mother's Day, when it seems plausible. I found younger, inexperienced sales clerks get flustered and older sales clerk project disapproval, while those in their 30's and 40's have seen enough and just roll with it and tend to not be judgmental.
