No Roadtrip Again

In past years, I would have begun my annual 750-mile roadtrip to Dayton, Ohio, this morning to attend the biggest ham radio convention in the world. But due to the pandemic, Hamvention was cancelled again this year.

Attending Hamvention gives me the opportunity to present as a woman for five days. Needless to say, that extended stay en femme is something I always look forward to and have sorely missed in 2020 and again in 2021. (The photo above is the gang at our booth at Hamvention two years ago.)

Due to my age, my family is urging me to fly rather than drive to Dayton in the future, so next year my “roadtrip” could be decidedly different if I take their advice. I am sure I will enjoy flying as a woman for the first time. And it will allow me to check off another entry on my bucket list.

Actually, there are not many undone items left on my bucket list. A lot of the undones are low priority; it is not important to me whether I ever accomplish them or not. Maybe it’s time to revisit y list and edit it accordingly.

  1. Understood - I will be taking a similar trip at the end of June, for the first time in a year and a half.
Also, it's not often I look at the Femulate Her photo and think, "I could pull off that outfit" but today's is one of them! However, I don't think I'd want a purse with an anchor chair hanging from it. (lol)

  2. I consider 2020 to be "The Year of Our Disappointments." So far, 2021 is turning out to be "The Year of Good Grief, Is This STILL Happening?"

Speaking of that, how are your shingles?

    1. Thank you for asking. The shingles are gone except for the red spots on my stomach, side and back where the rash was located. The spots are slowly fading, but not fast enough for bikini season.

    2. Glad you're feeling better! I think a maillot with mesh inserts might hide the spots fairly well, while it mimics a bikini -- have seen a lot of one-pieces with cut-outs in fashion this year. Dresses and blouses mostly, but surely the swimwear folk are not far behind.

  3. Glad to hear your shingles are clearing up and sorry that you're missing out. Your photos when you go en femme remain amazing, they really do, and I love that they are just real lived experiences, with the femulation as a fundamental understood part of the background, not the foreground. Basically, I am complimenting - but awfully!

    1. Thank you for the kind words. I prefer photos of real life experiences, but RLEs have been lacking and very much missed since early last year. Hopefully, the situation is changing for the better and I will have some new RLE photos rather than photos of me posing in my home.

I'm curious about two of the items on your bucket list: flirt, and go on a date. Can I assume that both of those are with a male? I'm just surprised because I know you've written in the past about if you went back before you were married you would have lived as a woman starting much younger. I'm curious if you always missed romance as a woman with a man?

and also: look at those legs in that short skirt. How have no men flirted with you!?!

    1. Actually, I’d prefer to flirt and/or date a woman, not a man, but I am very committed to my marriage and I should remove those items from my bucket list.

Over the years, I have had many men and a few women flirt with me.

BTW, I’m wearing a romper in that photo, not a skirt.

I agree with Stana , about being faithful to my wife , if I was single I would only date a woman , but I would say I find most women are not interested in guys who femulate , But they are very interested in dating a femulator because of his feminine sensitivities as long as he doesn't dress enfemme publicly . I think it's rare to have a wife who's OK with dressing enfemme in public , but I believe there will be more OK with it in the future . I think guys with the femulating gift have a large romantic advantage over non femulators with the ladies .

What Stana doesnt show is her red pumps that completed her leggy look. Having attended the hamvention many times and chatted with Stana, she could easily earn several booth babe awards for not just on her look but on her attire as well.

Today women tend to not put any care into their presence anymore where us gurls strive harder to portray femininity and sexuality.

All the flirts and looks we get are earned

  6. I am interested flying en femme too but was wondering what other girls' experiences are having done so. Is it difficult with TSA? Do you have to pre-arrange to do so? Any comments or thoughts on this would be welcome.

    1. Kimberly Huddle flew en femme all the time and I cannot recall reading about any difficulties she had doing so. You can read about her flying pretty experiences here: http://kimberlyhuddle.blogspot.com/

    2. Kimberly devoted an entire post on her blog about "How to 'Fly Pretty.'"
Here is the link to that post: http://kimberlyhuddle.blogspot.com/2012/08/how-to-fly-pretty.html

  7. I'm addressing a different part of the post - how do YOU feel about flying rather than driving? You are a vibrant active woman. I do not see why you could not drive if you chose to. You should travel as you wish when you wish.

    1. Some of my family's concern is related to the age of my vehicle: a 2007 Subaru Outback Sport with 150,000 miles. It is very reliable, but it isn't getting any younger, so I appreciate their concern. Last trip to Dayton in 2019, I rented a car because there was a tire/wheel issue with the Subaru that I could not resolve in time for the trip. So I probably would rent again if I drive. Personally, I prefer driving because there are no direct flights between here and Dayton. The few times I flew, I actually got home later by air than if I had driven!

    2. Ah, vehicle is a different question. I have an invitation to Nova Scotia, but that is a very long drive from Nova York in a 2003 vintage vehicle...

  8. BTW I see that you have kept your girlish figure rather better than the gents figures on the stand with you.

    1. Thank-you! Fighting middle-aged spread is a constant battle. Luckily, girls have a wide range of tools (foundation garments) to help us in the battle of the bulge.

    2. Hey my dad fought the battle of the bulge in WW2 with George Patton..
Today a good girdle sure does wonders over a waist-corset, that Amazon buy of yours works. Only took two days to get mine. But I still wear several that my mother used in the 1950s, very well made ,they still work in this century.... amazing!!!
