How Do You Shave?

2012-07-26_shaving I am always looking for better ways to get things done.

Face shaving can be a deal maker or breaker for a successful femulation. You could be dressed to the nines with a perfectly coiffed do and expertly applied makeup, but if your beard is visible. it ruins the femulation.

Currently, I use a Gillette Fusion manual razor with Edge shave gel to start the day. A new or nearly new blade in the razor gets me a very smooth shave that I have been unable to better using other products.

On those days when I am en femme 24/7, I touch up in the late afternoon or early evening with a Norelco rotary head electric razor. I use it without removing any makeup, then I touch up the makeup, which is a lot faster than removing my makeup, shaving, and then reapplying my makeup.

Assuming you are not one of those lucky girls who had electrolysis, how do you shave when you get ready to go out en femme? What products do you use? Do you use any tricks to to achieve absolute gorgeousness?

Please share your shaving modus operandi in the Comments section below.

Shaving, For going out, I use a Gillette Fusion as you, have the powered Fusion. Uses a battery in the handle and vibrates when pressing the power button. On the expensive cost, think it does a great close shave. Also use Noxzema Hair Minimizing Shave Gel every day. For every day shave just sitting around at my apartment I use a single double edge blade like the first Gillette razor I used at fourteen years old. Bought on Amazon: Silver Tone Double Edge Blade Razor $6.72 and a package of 100 Astra Superior Premium Platinum Double Edge Safety Razor Blades for #12.99. Replace blade once a week, so the 100 blades will last almost two years.

  2. Interesting post...

Just recently I discovered this post:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMUgB7uWhuA&list=UUCvoAe__WFYMNAEN-C-CtYA&index=7&feature=plcp

Whilst I don't do everything that he says, I have started with the Conditioner / Olive Oil mix for the shaving cream.

Cheap, the horrible rash I had when I shaved my legs has gone and it leaves the skin completely soft when done. And for the bits that are not solved with laser just yet on my face also seem to appreciate it :)

  3. I am having electrolysis, but I'm not done yet. A nice side-effect of it, though, is that I can shave very close without getting razor burn, even if I do so daily. That helps a lot when being en femme for 11 days straight :)

I also use a fusion, with Bic shave foam. I shave only after I shower, and apply a moisturizer afterwards.

  4. Hi Stana! It sounds like I have the same combination as you, but I also have a separate four blade razor (Venus) for my body. Using the fusion dulls the blade way too quickly. I also start by doing my upper lip/as close to my nostrils as I can with the electric. I find it's impossible to use the hand razor and shave my lip "against the grain."

I use the feminine equivalent of shaving gel, just because.

I also made a discovery: razor burn is really razor burn. If I use the electric on my neck first, no burn. As it heats a bit though, I become a redneck. And I also learned to keep the electric away from the inside of my elbow and knee. It causes scrapes, cuts, etc. It's not pretty.

but, let me expound, a very hot shower (I shave in the shower), conditioner, rather then shave cream (too masculine) everything else is left to the fact that I'm starting to gray, and I use a little pink blush to kill the blue hue of my remaining beard. basically brush it in as you would on your cheeks!

Oh, and then, as You mention, 24/7 I see the same a quick shave over make up and reapplication almost seems better then the first applicaion

  8. I always shave in the shower. I start by washing and conditioning my hair. then I wash my face with an exfoliating face wash and rinse with very warm water. I then wash the rest of my body. This gives my skin and hair to soften up in the warm shower. I then apply Edge Gel for sensitive skin and let it set for a minute. I use a Gillete Mach 3 razor to shave. I shave down first and then up or to the front of the chin against the hair growth. It's smooth as a baby's butt without razor burn or ingrown hair. Unfortunately my facial hair grows fast and have visible growth only 6 hours later :(

The Gillette razors have a single extra blade on the top edge specifially for doing areas that are hard to reach with the large flat surface.

    Hope that helps,

  10. If I'm going to apply make up, I shave in the bath to ensure that my beard is as soft as possible. I then use a combination of a shaving oil (such as King of Shaves)and a Gillette Fusion Proglide razor. I shave by touch only and I find this helps to locate the the grain of my beard on all parts of my face. I then shave both with and against the grain until completely smooth reapplying shaving oil as necessary.
