Take Action Now!

In the past few years, we’ve seen an alarming increase in anti-trans legislation. Already, we’ve seen hundreds of bills in 2024 that attack our community, from our access to healthcare to our safety in schools.

That’s why we’ve revamped our State Action Center, in partnership with the Transformations Project, so that everyone who cares about the trans community can make their voice heard! At the Action Center, you can find the bills that are moving through the legislature in your state, learn about their impacts, and contact your legislators. Your voice matters so much - and we have to tell these legislators that their actions are unacceptable.

TAKE ACTION NOW

Find your state on the Action Center now and tell your legislators that bills which attack our community are flat-out wrong. And share these action alerts far and wide!

Thank you so much for speaking out. The more we raise our voices and build trans power, the more we’ll fight back against these anti-trans extremists. No matter what, we won’t back down – because our trans community deserves safety, joy, and the brightest possible future.

Sincerely,

The National Center for Transgender Equality

  1. It has been a quite legislative session here in Connecticut no pro nor anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced this year. We tried to introduce a bill to ban the banning of books but so far it hasn’t been posted and I doubt that it will. They are focusing on the budget, and funding for the LGBTQ+ legislative advisor committee
(It is made up on LGBTQ+ non-profits) will be funding next year.
The governor spoke at a memorial for Nex Benedict that was held at the state capitol and the governor spoke, Fox 61 reported,
“The Governor assured members of the LGBTQIA+ community that they belong in Connecticut. “We're not going to be that bad village. We're going to be Connecticut; we're going to stand for each and every one of you. We love you for who you are,” said Lamont.”

  3. Sadly we are slowly losing the anti-trans battle here in Ohio but we are just beginning to fight and we know precisely who to start with now in the legislature. A religious gender fascist by the name of Gary Glick.

  4. One of the easiest things to counteract this hate is to engage with friends and relatives when they throw out this nonsense. Too many people are afraid to open their mouths, less they be labeled you're "one of them!" There is a pseudo-Nazi running for the office of the presidency. He and his followers are akin to the 1930's brown-shirts who started out burning books and finally ended up burning people. Politicians, in Florida for example, want to ban history in school so they can repeat history. They label people so they can (_______); fill in the blank.

The NCTE is a small public-interest law and lobbying firm here in DC. I've been a supporter for the past 6-7 years. Living in Maryland, where the whole LGBTQ community has widespread protection, I am fortunate.
