Be Pink

By Bocha Blue

Pink is such a sweet color. When one thinks of pink, one often thinks of softness, of happiness. Pink often conjures up images of the color of sprinkles on a freshly baked cupcake, of the color of a young girl’s room. Yet pink has also emerged as a political color — the color of activism, victory, and voters.

Pink is widely known as the color of fighting breast cancer. In those fights, the pink ribbon is widely seen as an homage to the future — of a time when one won’t have to worry about breast cancer, because it will have been defeated. Pink is also the color of political power and grace. Don’t forget Hillary Clinton’s stunning pink suit.

And pink is also the color of voters — of the votes cast by Gays and Lesbians. This is called the pink vote. (It is also called the lavender vote.) The pink vote is most prevalent in Britain, yet it has spread to the United States. Millions united in pink. Millions joined against the GOP.

And the GOP would be wise to listen. Because the pink vote is now considered a voting BLOC. And they will have significant influence at the voting booths. And the pink vote is getting mighty pissed at the underhanded tricks Republicans are attempting to play.

In Florida, Desantis is trying to expand his repulsive “don’t say Gay” law.

Also, all over this country, republicans are passing bills, particularly in red states, to forbid drag shows, prohibit classrooms from even saying the word “GAY,” and trying to stop gender-transition treatments.

And if anyone stands against them? They call said person an insurrectionist and try to ban them from speaking. We’ve seen that just these last few weeks in Montana and Tennessee.

But the GOP should wise up. Because people are getting angrier and angrier at them. And the pink vote isn’t playing. They’re serious, and most of them are damned pissed at the GOP for sticking their busybody noses where they don’t belong.

  1. Sadly we are not a voting block, there are a number of trans people that I know of who vote Republican, they put their pocketbook ahead of our lives. We know a mutual trans person who we went to Tea with that is a Trump fan.

  2. Pink wasn't always considered a "femme" color . Syracuse University, before switching to orange, had pink and blue school colors, as did their athletic uniforms .

Hopefully it is only a matter of time before politicians have to take into account the size of the Pink Vote and where those votes are being cast

I find your comment empty and quite specious.
Esau sold his 'birthright' for a 'mess of pottage' (quote from M. Twain) and got little in return.
Besides, this position has already been taken over by
'The Log Cabin Republicans'-- who sold their political interests in the hope of 'daddies trust fund'. google it if you are in need of knowledge
Most persons are hopefully confused over the subject as well as concepts of 'political economy'.
The local population here in NC are MAGA Republicans in the hope of
lowered taxes-- Instead of being overtaxed-- these people are totally underpaid. It is fun to watch the magaites 'palm' their EBT (read food stamp 'credit' card-- administered by BofA. to avoid showing the unique look of the card front. Google '' images (your state name) EBT food stamp card''.
The average wage here now is about what I made in 1979/1980 in a unionized shop. The local deputy sheriff has to supplant his income by working at the Verizon Store...
If you want political rights, do remember you also need 'workers rights' to assure you wont be 'purposely singled out' for your political position.
It is 'illegal' for an employer to 'discriminate on the basis of political affiliation'. You simply must have the economic power to 'take it to court'--good luck on that.

The Pink vote will go for whichever candidate who is for stopping  the Fed's printing of money for political reasons ( the GOP Swamp ) and the stopping of massive spending on a war we created .

It's a common tactic to divert attention from real issues by diverting attention to those who are different. Instead of addressing economic issues of Florida attention is diverted to transwomen, hiding history, book banning, drag queens, migrants shipped out of state. alleged voter fraud... My brother's home owner's insurance rose $900 this year to $3500 and he is in the middle of Florida. People are afraid of transwomen in the ladies bathroom when the women, girl and boys are assaulted by family members, school coaches, scout leaders and the clergy.
