Shopping at Fantasia Fair

I just received an email from a reader who plans to attend Fantasia Fair for the first time. She is excited about being able to shop for clothing while en femme in Provincetown.

Well, I hate to rain on her parade, but clothes shopping in Provincetown during Fantasia Fair is usually disappointing.

Since it is "off-season" or the "end-of-the-season," depending on whom you ask, some of the stores are closed for the year, while the stores that are still open are open on a limited schedule (reduced hours and/or reduced days like Thursday through Sunday or less).

While there may be end-of-the-season sales at the stores that are still open, it is so end-of-the-season that everything is picked over. All that is left is stuff that nobody else wants and not necessarily in sizes for girls like us.

So be forewarned.

  1. There are tons of Tee shirts and sweats shirts though, also the stores that are open and have stock that are expensive and usually don't have any 2X or lager clothes. More stores are open on then weekends and close during the week. The first weekend of FF is women's week and there are still some stores that are open. I bought some nice jewelry in P'town.

Sorry, but T-shirts and sweatshirts I don't class as 'women's wear'. That's the problem with women's fashion these days, it just ISN'T FEMININE ANY MORE. Sorry. A personal opinion perhaps but one that is shared by many.

  4. I think she'd enjoy shopping, with or without buying, if she's never shopped en femme before. It's like the difference between fishing and catching. One needs bait and costs more, the other is just a nice relaxing day.

  5. Stana -

You are far enough along the confidence curve that you go everywhere you can en-femme - and your blog shows it. P'town is for those who are nervous about what others may think. P'town is a good place to start going out en-femme. But P'town is not a place for shopping - unless one likes trinkets, souvenirs, or art.

Hopefully, novice femulators will consider taking the drive to the larger towns on the Cape, where they can get a wider selection of feminine clothes, shoes, etc....
