The Beach Boy Died Today

I love music. Last time I looked, I had over 15,000 songs stored on my computer. A lot of rock, but most other genres, too, but definitely a lot of rock.

My interest in rock music was kindled by The Beach Boys’ surfing music and the person most responsible for that music, Brian Wilson, died today.

Bummer!

I am very sad about Brian’s death, but on a positive note, he will be rejoining his brothers in heaven.

So be it.

  1. an erratic genius with a great deal of problems. But a genius. But it makes Wilson Phillips "Flesh and Blood" one of the saddest songs out there

JJ here: I was also a Beach Boy fan, growing up with them as my musical taste developed. Brian was such a tremendous force for the development of his genre. Thank goodness that he leaves behind such a huge catalog of his work. I actually bought the expanded version of Pet Sounds when I heard of his passing. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert in 2016 and do a meet & greet. Such an amazing experience. RIP Brian

  3. I was crushed by the news of Brian Wilson's death. Like you, Stana, I have tons of music on my computer and other media... ranging from Mozart to hip hop. Unfortunately, as time goes by, we are going to lose more of our musical heroes. Rest well, Brian! 💔

Interesting that Dennis was the only surfer. He’s the one that drowned. I played the 45 of Help Me Rhonda till it wore out! I seen the Beatles in person but they weren’t as great as The Beach Boys. RIP Wilson brothers. Your music will go on!!
