Class Reunion

Saturday evening, I will attend my law school class reunion.

Instead of reuniting just one graduating class, the reunion is for all classes with years ending in "2" or "7." Thus, my 1977 class will celebrate its 35th reunion along with classes celebrating their 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, et cetera reunions.

The latest head count has 67 graduates plus guests attending including ten grads from my own class. Three of those ten I considered friends when I attended the school. I don't recall one of the ten at all; he might have been in the night school. The remainder were classmate acquaintances, not friends.

I am not sure what to wear to the reunion. I want to dress nicely because the venue is very nice: the Basketball Hall of Fame's "Center Court," which is a grand ballroom with a large domed ceiling and balcony view.

Online photos of recent past reunions show most of the women dressed in conservative suits or dresses. That's not me! I never dress conservatively.

I do have a few days to decide what to wear. Any suggestions?

Though I haven't seen the outfits your speaking of to be sure, but I can imagine anyone of the dresses you've modeled for us from your hamvention would be wonderful! My favorite being the Lime and black print. I see your style as fem and classy, not over the top, and not button up conservative. Major great taste, which will give you many complements.

  2. I'd recommend a knee length dress, maybe sleeveless and heels for the reunion.

  3. Dear Stana,

I think an LBD (Little Black Dress) with classic black patent pumps and silver jewelry would be lovely for your reunion. We girls love occasions to wear our LBDs.

    Love,

    Sheila.

  4. Just dress so that you are comfotable - sounds like you will have a good time. Do you still practice law?

  5. Later today I will be attending a reunion of sorts where a group will be welcoming a new college president. I will be en drab in a suit and tie.
I am awestruck that you will be attending your law school reunion en femme and I wish you total success. I am sure that you will be well received.
I like the outfit that Jamie Camil is wearing on today's 'Femulated'. It is sedate and classy and can be nicely accessorized. I think that something of that nature would be adequately dressy without being too conservative or too flashy.
    Enjoy

  6. Stana, I've given your question lots of time in order to allow me to think about it and I have a few tugs; You do not say if you kept in touch with the three classmates or not. Did you?

Another mental tug is, Do the books with the pictures of the recent reunions mention trans-persons at all?

My answer; only three of the 67 respondents were close enough to be called "friends", so, I would opt to "come out" to them at the reunion but not dress. I would pack an ensemble of course but save it and put it on only IF they want to see you in it!

    Just MHO.

    Have fun and enjoy!

It's a law school reunion so you simply *must* look tres successful! Wear something not black and glam it with your blingiest bling. If you can, dash out for a designer clutch, something you can casually display when touching up after dinner. Have fun!!

  9. Well I like your Bunny costume, but I would understand if you didn't think that appropriate. What ever makes you feel good, makes you look good. Classy and successful, sounds like "Femulate"
