The first time I went to work as Diana was in 2009, when I was interning at a nonprofit called the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund (CWEALF), now known as She Leads Justice. It was located in the YWCA building, and my office overlooked the State Capitol and the Legislative Office Building. Part of my responsibilities included going to the LOB to follow trans-related legislation. There, I had to interact with legislators and testify at hearings.
