Smells like Gender Role Reversal

While searching the Internet for something else, I found something interesting that is Femulate-related.

My find was a series of short video clips from America's Next Top Model, "a reality television series in which a number of women compete for the title of America's Next Top Model and a chance to start their career in the modeling industry." (source: Wikipedia)

The latest season has both males and females competing. In one of the competitions, the models had to act in a perfume commercial, in which the gender roles were reversed, that is  the male models play the female roles and the female models play the male roles.

Here is the link to the Top Model webpage that has all the video clips from that competition.

    Ah, America.

Take a trend towards potent androgyny in fashion -- think Andre Pejic -- and then turn it into a Halloween prank that won't challenge the viewers.

I really believe that TV producers are a demonic class in the downfall of culture, because they are willing to give viewers titillation without challenge, willing to use expression for cheap entertainment.

Potent androgyny to Halloween prank. Any wonder why so many transpeople feel erased and made fun of?

  2. that was interesting.. but yea, really bad acting, unshaven guys, horribly written script. Some of the guys/girls didn't look bad, most crossdressers dress better than that

  3. Wow! Those are horrible. The first one or two weren't that bad, but they quickly went downhill. No wonder I'm embarrassed to wear a dress out.
