validation

There is a message thread about validation on the MHB (My Husband Betty) Message Boards. Some people seemed concerned that when they receive a compliment about their appearance ("You look great"), the person making the compliment is really saying, "You look great... for a tranny."

So? I'd rather look "great" for a tranny than look lousy for a tranny!

I appreciate any compliment I receive, whether the person making the compliment reads me as a tranny or not. Perhaps, the nicest compliment I have ever received was, "You look better than most women I know."

You can't get much better validation than that!

  1. Well said Staci...I think the most confusing comment is when someone says "You look Well" I never quite know how to react to that, (other than saying Thankyou of course)

"You look great" only = "You look great... for a tranny." if it is spoken, otherwise is becomes speculation on part of the reciever! (in other words, maybe some people don't take a compliment the way it should be accepted.) Maybe? Just a thought! I have them occassionally and suprise myself...lol

  2. I don't mind somebody saying "You Look Great!" as long as they're not thinking...."You REALLY look awful, but I just can't say that."

  3. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth! If the horse compliments me, I take the horse at his/her word and nay, do I try to read anything into the compliment.

  4. You know how I feel about this. If someone said, "You look great for a tranny" I'd be floating for days on end.
