  1. I enjoy the "Before/After" photos. Lily shows the class that the girls on Femulate are known for. I got to thinking.......wouldn't it be interesting to hear how we all came to find our femme names.

My name is Emily. Actually it’s not, but it’s the name I identify with when I am in a feminine mode. I am a man, but ever since I was a small boy I had longings to be feminine. I wanted to wear dresses and feel what it felt like to be a girl.

Sometimes I’d look at girls and wish I was one. When I was in middle school I began to secretly try on dresses, skirts, and anything feminine. In High School when I was left alone at home I’d dress up as a girl and watch TV.

However, in my heart I knew that not only was I a man, but I didn’t really want to be a girl. I discovered that I felt deep attractions to women and felt none for men. Also, I knew that I loved interacting with women as a man and loving women as a man.

Even when I’m completely dressed up as Emily I know that in a moment I can switch it off and become Michael. I know that I’d feel embarrassment to show Emily to a woman whom I thought was attracted to me.

Once in college I dressed up as a girl for Halloween. I had a female friend who eagerly assisted. She let me go all out and though I hadn’t yet conjured up Emily as my fem name I was Emily that Halloween.

As much as I loved being Emily that Halloween, I still put out the cover story that being a girl for my costume was done as a lark, a dare, or anything except something I craved to do.

To me Emily is a classy woman who’s always lovely, but if I could magically turn into that girl I know I’d sigh and say, “thanks, but no thanks. I like being Michael and want to continue to be him.

When I was really really young my mother kept saying that I was suppose to be a girl since her first born was a boy. My brother was named after her father. I was suppose to be named after her mother, but my father's sperm thought otherwise. I was given the masculine name of my grandmother, Stephen.
