Post-Christmas Post

For tomorrow’s post, I am posting a Someday Funnies caption about panicking when I could not find my car keys in my purse. This actually happened to me once when I was  in Dayton, Ohio, to attend my ham radio group’s board meeting the night before Hamvention.

After the board meeting, everyone scattered to return to their hotel rooms throughout the Dayton area. As I was about to scatter, I searched through my purse trying too find my car keys and came up empty. I began to panic since I was 750 miles away from my second set of keys!

After panicking for about 15 minutes, I finally dumped the contents of my purse on a table and, voila!, my keys were in the contents.

I learned my lesson and after that episode, I always stored my keys in one of those zippered or buttoned pockets inside most of our handbags.

For my Christmas Day post, I created a retro Christmas card in honor of the girls of Casa Susanna. My card was based on the card designs used by some of the girls at Casa Susanna back in the early 1960’s.

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! One more to go!

  1. Stana
The problem with your keys is a good reminder that not all female experiences are pleasant
Most of us will never know just how close we have come to being in a similar situation

  2. I hope you had a fabulous Christmas and that Santa brought you everything you hoped for.
I suspect many of us have had that moment of panic when we can't find our keys ~ like most of the things we worry about the worst rarely happens.

  3. I had a cross body bag that had two zippered pockets on the outside. It was nice to be able to use the smaller pocket for just the keys. In the summertime when I always wear dresses without pockets, I have to keep my keys in my purse. Unfortunately it got so battered in its appearance it had to be replaced. The new purse has only one zippered outside pocket, so I have to put my phone and keys there. So now I have to fumble for my keys. When I replace my current purse I will make sure the new purse has TWO zippered outside pockets.

  4. Stana, thanks so much for the effort you put into this blog. I can only imagine how challenging it is to find content each day, but you seem to manage it expertly. So, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your hard work.
    Happy New Year,

  5. It’s a little known fact that handbags are not only sentient but also mischievous. Obscuring keys from searching fingers is their favourite game and, if you are paying attention (which you won’t be because you are panicking about your keys) you can feel them shake with laughter as you resort to upending your bag in the most inelegant fashion only to find the hitherto invisible keys plainly in sight.

Plus did anyone notice "L'eggs" trending high on social media much of today? A lot of fun reminisces and photos for us pantyhose fans of a certain age.
