Friday Footings

If the Shoe Fits Dept.

If you are like me and don't feel completely dressed until you slip into a pair of Louboutin or more likely, Payless high heel pumps, then you will appreciate the High Heel Hacks that Rhonda of Rhonda's Escape fame, posted on her blog yesterday.

He's Got Legs Dept.

Summertime and the living is easy, but for years, I refused to wear shorts in boy mode in even the hottest weather because I worried that people might notice my shaved legs. Well, this summer has been one of the hottest in awhile in this neck of the woods... so hot that I took a pair of scissors to an old pair of jeans and made myself a pair of shorts that I have worn on most hot days this summer.

If anyone noticed, they did not say, not even when I accessorized with a pair of nude pumps (only kidding about the pumps).

She's Got Shoes Dept.

I have so many shoes that I forget what I own. So I took photos of every shoe and created a PowerPoint that groups the collection according to style and height. Now when I put together an outfit, I simply view the PowerPoint to choose a shoe instead of trying to find something among the hundred shoe boxes stacked in my closet.

  1. Stana, I've kept my legs smooth for years and it's glorious. Especially in Nevada. Nobody seems to give me a second glance when I wear my shorts. Speaking of shorts, I've found that women's shorts with a drawstring are the most comfortable. I've noticed that men's shorts lately are cut much longer than I prefer. I don't like them hanging at or below my knee. The women's shorts are cut so they hare a couple inches above my knee, I'm about 5' 8"

In my shoe department, two pair of heels and two pair of sandals. I've worn my sling back sandals all season long for about 3 years. Again, if anyone has noticed...nothing has ever been said.

You'd be surprised at how little pay attention to some of the details people give. Probably too busy using their phone to see my legs or shoes.

    2. below the knee is not shorts, they are capris or highwaters. If you are going to wear long pants, wear long pants. If you are going to wear shorts wear shorts. Stana has it right

  2. Your post today is very personal and very interesting. We do go through so many changes as we grow up and the feelings you experienced must have been very confusing. I like you Stan.

  3. I have not had visible leg hair for decades and over all these years I only had one minor comment...not worth giving consideration to. I am out in shorts all the time and I have notices that there are plenty of other men with no or minimal leg hair.
Over the past several years I have also gone out wearing beige/nude pantyhose under my shorts on several occasions. I cannot recall ever getting a second look.

  4. As a consequence of the cancer treatment I received a bit over two years ago my legs, arms and armpits have gone bald. This year alone I have worn shorts and swimming trunks here in Canada as well as in Antigua, Spain and Greece, and absolutely nobody has paid any attention to me... I don't think anyone has even noticed. Unfortunately though my beard has not even thinned out...

As a 64.5 yo femulator, I have almost no leg hair, always wear cut-offs in summer in guy mode, still have GREAT LEGS (considering womens unsolicited comments) from climbing up/down 18 wheeler cabs... BUT PLENTY of back, shoulder, arm and torso hair. NO 'cold shoulders' outfits here. I just found a GREAT pair of ladies white stretch denim short shorts at RAINBOW; they really show off my padded derriere. I need advice on if pantyhose are OK with shorts.
My lady lawyer friend wears hose (to court too!) but does not shave her legs. Hairs poking thru the hose, at all angles, all gnarly, EWWWWWWWW! It is a miracle she is not cited for 'contempt of court'. Velma

  6. That is a great idea about shoes & Powerpoint! I have a bunch of shoes in boxes as well as on a rack and that sounds like it may do the trick to make choosing easier. I would have never thought of that. Thanks! Hugs,
