Winding Down

Ten work days left, then I'm out of here! What a great feeling!

Only ten more commutes to work. Good riddance to all you tailgaters on Route 322!

It is so nice to be able to ignore e-mails and meetings at work regarding stuff that will have no import until after I exit.

I will finish my last writing project today, so then I will switch to maintenance mode and organize my files for the two writers who will replace me. Also, I can start going through the stuff in my office (20 years' worth) and decide what to take home and what to throw out.

Meanwhile, my old boss came by yesterday and invited me to go out to dinner to celebrate. She also invited my previous old boss to the celebration. Problem is that their schedules won't permit us to get together until after I leave, so we will do dinner in June.

I came out to both of my former bosses years ago and they always encouraged me to dress as a woman at work for Halloween. In fact, they were both fine with me dressing as a woman all the time at work if that is what I chose to do. Needless to say, I will be presenting as a woman when we do go out to dinner next month.

Thought for the Day

If I knew then what I know now, I would have been sitting to pee like forever.

As someone who retired within the past year, I am thrilled for you and I wish you the happiest retirement possible! Your impending dinner 'en femme' with your two most recent managers ought to be quite a memorable evening and I look forward to your account of that evening as well as your fashion selections. Wishing you a long and happy/healthy retirement, dear Stana!

  2. I remember back when I was retiring but before then we had to do our annual performance goals. They kept sending me reminders and I got a call from corporate HR tell me I had to do it. So what do you set as your goals for next year when you are retiring next month?
So I wrote that I wanted to be on a sunny beach somewhere and my five year plan was to be still above ground.

    1. LOL! I did not bother with my 2017 goals and no one has complained so far.

    2. By the way, I met my five year plan, I'm still above ground tens years later and it will be my ten year anniversary of transitioning on June 29.

  3. Congratulations. I am sure that you could think of a better retirement gift than the traditional gold watch...perhaps a necklace or to keep with tradition a ladies watch.
I wish you the best and hope to follow you into retirement within the next year or two.
Best always and thanks for giving me one more reason why you are a true hero/heroine.

  4. Stana -

You have a short amount of time to go to work in a dress. So do it and enjoy! More important, enjoy your retirement! You have earned it.

    1. Thanks, Marian. I have been thinking about showing up on one of my remaining days en femme for old times' sake.

  6. Dear Stana,

You will ADORE retirement. You'll be able to do whatever you want whenever you want to do it. You can take little trips and vacations without getting approval from a workplace.

For my retirement gift, I chose a very nice ladies necklace that I wear often when femulating.

    Congratulations on your fast-approaching "parole".

    Love,

    Sheila.

  7. Stana, congratulations on your retirement. You're doing it the right way. My last day with Delta Air Lines was on a December 31. Unfortunately I was working midnight shift and our day started at 11PM. So my last day was through New Years Eve and I officially retired on Jan 1 at 7AM. Poor planning on my part.

I hope you do try to get a job at the Dress Barn since you need to stay busy even retired. And your last day should definitely be en femme.

  8. Congrats Stana! All the best for your retirement.
I threw in the towel at the end of last year. Still getting use to not getting apprehensive about having to face two hours of traffic jams every day and people trying to push one off the road. I don't miss the work, only the daily contact with my staff that became friends.
Im lucky to have lots of hobbies that I can now spend more time on. Being at home all the time means I'm being involved more in house work, not that I have shunned it in the past, it's just more than before!
You are not one of those people that fall into a hole and don't know what to do with the extra time. I expect to read with interest about lots of new projects that you can now involve yourself with.
Just remember to plan 'away time' for yourself, it's important. While working we were there for others, now we have to be there for ourselves.
A new phase in life is here, have fun with it!
