Most days, I check how many “views” (also known as “hits”) the blog received that day. For the past few months, the view count has been through the roof hitting an all-time high of 91,188 on January 19. (Before the surge, the blog views typically were 7,000 to 8,000 per day.)
By far, Red China accounted for most of the surge. I’m sure that tens of thousands of Chinese femulators were not checking into the blog each day. Rather, the Chinese were fooling around on the Internet for some unknown (nefarious?) reason(s).
On January 20, the surge ended and the view count returned to the previous norm of 7,000 to 8,000 per day. It is too coincidental that this change occurred on Inauguration Day; I suspect that the new administration flipped a switch somewhere, which blocked the Chinese.
And so it goes.

More likely the switch was thrown on the other side. Trump wouldn't cut his own audience. The Chinese likely thought he would start talking some crazy stuff (like he did) and might stir up their people (like he did ours) so they pulled the plug. They censor a LOT over there
ReplyDeleteCould have been either side, but my first thought when reading this was that Tik Tok was banned in the US on Jan 19th, and may have something to do with it.

Given the popularity of drag shows in prisoner of war camps during WW2 I am sure a lot of cross dressers had enlisted or were drafted into the army. From what I have read it was common for the wives of the prisoner guards to donate female attire for the drag performances. Now, if there is a drag performance on a military base anyone in charge loses their mind of it. It gives rise to a new use of the word "purge." Cross dressers will "purge" their wardrobe when questioning the "why, do I do this" while the military services "purge" patriotic Americans of cross dressers.
ReplyDeleteThe Army Special Services sign in the background was intended to indicate that Albert was enlisted as a Special Services female impersonator, not a POW.
DeleteVery interesting statistic. Will be interesting to see future trends. JJ
ReplyDelete7 to 8 thousand views per day had been the normal view count for years until the Chinese surge occurred. Now that the surge has been tamed, the view count is back to normal.
DeleteThe first photo reminds me of Corporal Klinger from MASH.
ReplyDeleteAnd that Shein suit is simply fabulous!
Yes - I love the Shein suit, but sadly it does not come in my size!
DeleteAppears equally plausible that it was the Chinese administration, doesn't it?
