It Seams To Me

When I started dressing seriously in the early 1960s, I wore nylon stockings that had seams. But just as I was warming up, my nylon stockings’ source (Mom) switched to the newfangled seamless stockings (and I no longer had to worry about keeping my seams straight).

I’ve been wearing seamless hose ever since, but the first funny in this past weekend’s Someday Funnies got me thinking about seamed hosiery and the fact that they are very sexy. And that it is about time that I added some seamed thigh highs to my wardrobe.

I poked around Amazon and found a three-pack of On the Go black seamed thigh highs at $22.99 ($7.66 per pair), which is a reasonable price for thigh highs these days.

As soon as they arrive, I will try them on and let you know what I think. (I already think that I will have to start worrying about keeping my seams straight!)

  1. I look forward to the day when wives do help choose our clothes for us all making us even more of the woman we strive to be.

  2. I've always been a pantyhose gal myself. And the advantage to seamed tights is that they don't shift around as much as stockings. Plus, I'm not one to be flashing my stocking tops for all the world to see. (lol)

  3. Ahhh backseams. I wrote this years ago in a story: I turn to watch her walk away, allowing my gaze to drift down to her legs and my heart stumbles over a few beats. A thin black line runs from the heel of her stilettos, up her long shapely legs, and disappears beneath the short hem of her snug black skirt - leading my eyes up the seductive path that my fingers would like to travel.

Just not sure what it is about that long thin line, but you've inspired me to go out and buy another pair.

  4. Seamed stockings are THE most.feminine pieces of apparel any boy or girl can wear. There is nothing sexier than seamed stockings worn with tall, thin, stiletto heels. I wear them whenever I get dressed to the nines. The best way to keep the seams straight is to wear them with garters, they help keep everything in place.

  5. I remember that episode of That Girl with Ted Bessell dressing pretty. I think he was doing a news story on cops dressing as women to patrol the parks. I was always thrilled in those days to see any femulating on TV. By the way Ted showed up dressed at Anne's apartment for some reason and her father was there! Awkward as the kids say.
