I’ve been very busy over the past two weeks dealing with weather-related issues and health concerns—both mine and my wife’s. As a result, this blog has suffered a bit, with fewer posts than usual.
By the end of the day, I find it far more relaxing to create amusing images for the blog than to write new text. Writing is hard work; making funnies is fun.
I could easily write volumes about the ringleader in the White House, but I have no desire to sully the blog with that. As Thumper once wisely said, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.” So so it goes.

Sebastian Muntean did a good job of femulating Amy Winehouse. He sounded pretty female too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I loved your undercover boss pictures today.

ReplyDeleteGood one!

RE: Sebastian Muntean femulating Amy Winehouse...
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw his performance on YouTube. It's amazing how he can sound like a woman.
My trying to sound like a woman is a lost cause since I'm a bass. Maybe I could dress up as Dolly Parton and sing Johnny Cash songs such as "Rings of Fire" and "Ghost Riders".
I have the hair and the chest mounds, but I DEFINITELY would need a corset.

ReplyDeleteSometimes, one has to comment on the madness emanating from the White House, as his madness affects our community. Yet, I understand why you don't want to say much - it is both a time suck and an emotional energy suck.
On my blog, I try to write something every day, and often, I have very little worth saying. It's the discipline that's important. I limit myself in my comments about the Orange Monster, as I don't want to make my blog a continuing screed about the monster.
It's hard to come up with something on a daily basis. So, I appreciate it when you have something to write about, as it requires more work and more thought to put down on electronic media the ideas floating in one's head.
Keep up the good work, as you have time to do so.

Keep your standards, like your heels, HIGH.
ReplyDeletePlease don't ever think the blog is "suffering" when you're absent. Everyone needs to take care of their mental and physical health, so if that means stepping away occasionally, we'll be fine. We can always find something to discuss amongst ourselves until you return: like, is everyone wearing red or pink for Galentine's Day today? It's pale pink lace boyshorts beneath my pants in the office for this gal;)
ReplyDeleteI just found this site and added it to my home screen. As a "straight" man, happily married, who loves to dress up, I feel we all need to stick together in these bad times. The only good thing about this orange turd in office, is that he has pushed me to wear women's fashion out of the house.i now proudly wear skirts to the city when we go to shows and museums. While holding my hot as hell wife's hand...and pushing a baby carriage. Fuck these pennywise evil fucks. We will prevail. In solidarity. There is hope. I was a lifelong Republican up until Hump 1.0. but now my eyes are WIDE open! And all I do now is read the "real" news, and study the history of how this effect up government came to be this way. It is terrifying and enlightening at the same time. But it is an awesome tool necessary to cut down those loud right wing lunatics. Peace. I feel that more will level heads will come about and turn the tide.
ReplyDeleteWere you asking for people to write for your site? If so, how does one submit ones story or advice observation? Please keep creating your "amusing images"--they help me feel normal as I flow among the shopping populace. They also give me hope about the future. It just dawned on me! How about using voice-to-text to write? My brother-in-law is a throat cancer survivor and he has trained an app by Google. Also, would a larger keyboard help?
ReplyDeleteI was not asking for contributions; I was just explaining why there were so many post absences lately. My tremors come and go, so I just don't use a mouse when my hand is trembling. On the other hand (pun), tremors are not a problem when I use the keyboard - go figure. And the drug I am now taking has helped a lot.
