Smoothing the back of my skirt as I sit down.
Pencil skirts.
Crossing my legs and letting a high-heel pump dangle from the tip of my stockinged foot.
Carrying a purse—my purse.
Taking a compact from it to touch up my makeup.
Wearing high heels.
Hearing the click of those heels as I walk.
Being called “Ma’am.”
Better yet… being called “Miss.”
Wrap dresses.
A complete stranger stopping to say, “I like your dress,” or compliment something else I’m wearing.
Shopping in a clothing store that opens a dressing room just for me—and displays my name on the door.
Shopping, period.
When a man holds the door open for me.
Dangly earrings.
Lipstick.
Admiring glances.
My shaved legs.
A scarf draped just right.
And realizing that when I present as a woman, it comes so naturally I don’t have to think about it at all.

Stana, most of the things you list apply to me. Here are the differences:
ReplyDelete1. I HATE shopping. I get my stuff from Amazon.
2. I don't carry a compact. My wife wanted to use a compact that she forgot, and was miffed when I told her I don't carry it. However, she has raided my purse for lipstick when she forgot hers.
3. I don't have pencil skirts.

"When a man holds the door open for me."
DeleteI hold the door open for ladies no matter what I am wearing as I'm a gentleman. I can be dolled up with a dress, heels, and makeup, but I will hold the door open for a lady, who might be wearing pants, flat shoes, and no makeup.
John
I just sighed out loud as I read this fabulous list!
ReplyDeleteI second your list. Sue xx
ReplyDeleteYour favorite things are spot on!! I can relate to every single one the list you nailed it Stana. Jill
ReplyDeleteA totally comprehensive and delicious list, Sweetie. May I share it???
ReplyDeletePlease do.
DeleteYour list feels as sweet as the soft caress of nylons on shaved legs!
ReplyDeleteBesides the girly thrills you mentioned, my top fine feminine feelings feature gazing at my long painted nails at the end of fingers bedazzled by big shiny rings, on limply held wrists adorned by bright bracelets, the heady scent of my flowery perfume, and the sensuous sounds and feelings as my sheer stockings rub together as I walk in my pointy toe high heels, along with the click click click those heals make, announcing to the world that a very feminine creature is making her way in the world. The only thing I would take off your list is I don't savor any interactions with real men when I am en femme.
right on!--emily
ReplyDeleteIf I may add a few of my own:
ReplyDelete• The silken whisper of nylon when I cross my legs
• A perfect tuck
• Coming home from work and putting ON a bra and heels
• Sleeping in a satin chemise
• Flirtatious laughter
• 80s prom & bridesmaid dresses
• The Sound of Music
I would like to add......drifting towards the woman's restroom while ennmale and having to veer off course AND interest in the woman around me and what they are wearing - Hugs Brenda but I like Elise and her after work wear
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes.....it's lovely being a girl.....and being girly. Tia
ReplyDeleteA few more...
ReplyDeleteFeeling the tug of a garter strap while I walk
Wearing perfume
Lipstick prints on my wine glass
Painting my nails
Wearing a bra to bed
And probably a whole lot more
Dear Stana,
ReplyDeleteLove the list!
What about dancing backward in high heels?
Love it!
DeleteI’m not sure how you manage it, but you get more beautiful as time moves on. And your list simply amplifies the beauty that’s in you. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI have actually worked as a housemaid/cleaning lady. My first "employer" paid me in clothes; I've still got a skirt and blouse, the second cash at normal "femme de menage" rates. But I still had to make myself appear as a woman, but glam, absolutely not.
ReplyDeleteAs to the pleasures, for me female things are important. When younger, sanitary pads for as long as a period usually lasts, and there are tampons in the bathroom cabinet. Now incontinent pants are more appropriate. Female deodorants of course and any other female product that can be used or worn.
