As much as I am very wary of AI, the sleeveless dress in the second last picture is very fetching and I would love to have one like it. Also, well done on the sports bra joke!
Funny my mid life crisis also included women’s clothing that is when I did my first of many public outings quite honestly I wouldn’t trade my feminine wardrobe for any sports car. Jill
Bra straps. I don't know what it is, but I am always fidgeting with my right bra strap. Part of it is my shoulder trapezius muscle is somewhat developed and it makes the strap slide off. I am always adjusting it. Small price to pay though. I will take a bra every time over a men's tie that is for sure. -Christina
RE Complaining about ties and bra straps Now that I have a bust and wear a bra whenever I'm out in public, I would MUCH rather wear a bra and and a dress instead of wearing the dull, prosaic coat and tie outfit. I call ties "gravy magnets" as once they are soiled, it is close to impossible to remove the spot. As a boy I used to shine my shoes on Saturday nights. Now I apply nail polish on Saturday nights to go with my dress I wear on Sunday mornings. John
Many years ago as a youngster I was complaining to my Mom how I did not like ties and really disliked wearing them. I followed on with the comment that girls are lucky because they don't have to wear ties. She came back with the retort, "then you would have to wear a dress." I really did not overthink her response at the time and thought at least I am not wearing a tie! I don't recall if I verbalized the response or not, maybe that was the beginning of my attraction to the ladies section?
While I don't have all that many dresses or skirts, I don't have any ties!
In my mid-40s, I decided to enroll in a doctoral program, while keeping my full-time job. My wife didn't balk at the cost in money or time, the latter of which was a larger commitment. Some men hit middle-age and decide they want a sports car, a Harley Davidson, aggressive tattoos, or a 25 year-old mistress. I don't think my wife would have been as agreeable had any of those interested me.
I'm forever grateful that she was perfectly fine with Rachel's arrival in our household as "the other woman" in our marriage.

ReplyDeleteThere’s nothing I wouldn’t want.
ReplyDeleteLove the car/bra pun. I've a drawer full of bras of all sorts, but no sports bra. Some shopping to be done.
