Do CDs have a “Girl Card”?
As guys, we’ve probably all had occasion for joking with other guys about turning in their “Man Card.” You know, your buddy just ordered a fancy drink at the bar rather than a beer or straight booze and somebody says, “Turn in your man card.” Is there a similar concept for CDs? Would it be a CD Card or a Girl Card?
I Think So
There are things that we do as CDs that we can similarly joke with other CDs about. For example, if you have less than 10 pairs of heels, you probably should turn in your CD Card. I can think of several other measures. Like if you have more men’s beauty products than women’s cosmetics. More men’s dress shirts than women’s sparkly tops. More bras than your SO.
This Is a Joke
OK, at this point some of you are getting upset. You may be thinking that I’m making fun of you or CDs, as a whole. It’s not personal folks. I like to see humor in everything and my sense of humor is quirky. Sometimes my mind has a mind of its own.
I think it’s good to make fun of ourselves from time-to-time and not take things too serious. In the meantime, I might spend some effort trying to design a CD Card to hand out to my friends. And demand it back when they do something guy-ish.
I’ll Be Back
I’ll be back with more Stuff for sure. Comments are welcome either here on the blog or by email to Jenn6nov at-sign gmail dot com. JJ is always looking for more stuff so let me know what you would like to read about.

I'd say men are issued a Man Card, but CDs have to EARN a Girl Card....
ReplyDelete....co-ordinate outfits....
..GLIDE in heels, not just not-fall. It isn't the same, develop grace..... (as much as one can, given physical ability)
Maybe be able to do your makeup without looking like you used a trowel...
..dress to your age and figure - and note some can wear a fairly short skirt after 50, some cannot - know which you are.
etc....
Great suggestion Fiona! Love the concept of earning your girl card! JJ

DeleteI know I have folded, spindled, mutilated, and ultimately burned my man card, with the exception of not wanting fruit juice mixed with my whiskey. And I drink beer and wine (not Arbor Mist!). I also have earned my girl card as the last time I wore pants was to my mother's funeral in 2024 late September. And yes, I wear heels, earrings, and makeup.

Hi Fiona, great suggestions! I could add (at least for myself) looking at every Femulate Her outfit and dreaming about where and when you want to wear it.

DeleteI’m a Polish American CD also. Run in the blood?
ReplyDeleteHaving spent years stressing about identifying as a Crossdresser (still closeted) I can’t agree more that we should be able to laugh at ourselves and with each other.
ReplyDeleteSo what if I enjoy walking round in my favourite heels, get over it people!
As for subject matter when it comes to passing not only is it best to dress for the occasion, us girls should also try and nod at the fashion trends of the season. Choosing the right length dress or wearing the bang on colour will always help in attracting less unwanted attention. I like most have my go to items but in my shopping cart I have barrel jeans, a splash of red in a top and oversized jacket to go along side my crew neck cardigan which are all on trend without being too ‘out there’. Not everything has to be your fave’ it’s the overall look that brings joy to me. For some reason I feel full of confidence in who I am when writing things down but the reality is I’ll keep on slipping out early morning in something my wife hasn’t seen to walk the dog and quickly remove it when I get back. It sounds funny but it does satisfy that inner urge every time. Got to keep laughing at the strange things we do. I give you 100 girl cards! Keep up with the upbeat work you wonderful lady ❤️
If you have mustered the nerve to be out in a dress with another, I do not think your CD card can be revoked.
ReplyDeleteAs far as a girl card, hmmm, I think that Fiona is right and it must be earned. I think that one is up to the GGs, and how well they accept you.

Good points Norah! JJ
DeleteSo, I guess you and I have earned our girl cards then, JJ! ππ
DeleteI have some mixed reactions-1st of all I believe that many older women are actually fearful of negative judgement by their peers. I think they are nuts and the same goes for us. As long as it does not border on the absurd why not strut your stuff in something that is ultra feminine? If you want to follow the majority of older women (pants) why even bother?
ReplyDeleteSecondly-in addition to attire equally important is your attitude and presentation. The bolder you are in your interaction with civilians the greater your chances of acceptance. And the more you put yourself forward the greater your confidence will grow----Emily
I lived full time for 15 years and the one thing I would say would require me to turn in my gurl card was when guys starting talking sports and I would talk circles around them. I couldn't help it but I knew so much more than most guys. Still do.
